What Is Business Administration/Business Management?

Business administration or management is generally thought of as working with and through people to accomplish a common goal for an organization and for the people who work there.  Successful business managers usually have a broad base of knowledge about business functions and also an ability to work effectively with people.

If you like running things–things like the bake sale committee or coaching little kids soccer–and think you’re pretty good at it, management might be a field to check out.  Jobs could include titles such as restaurant manager, health care administrator, project manager, or, at higher levels, Plant manager or Vice President of Operations.
