What is A Management Information Systems (BS) Degree?

A Management Information System is a computerized information processing system that is designed to give management the information they need to make informed decisions about the operations of the company or organization.  Completing a BS degree in Management Information Systems will give you not only the knowledge and skills needed in business and management but also knowledge of information systems.

In addition to general education courses, you’ll study things like computer science, databases, management, accounting, and statistics.  You may be able to specialized in an area like cybersecurity or global information management.  You may even serve an internship with one or more professionals in the field.  With the BS degree you’ll be ready for a data analyst or specialist position in cybersecurity, database management, or other related fields.  With some work experience, you’ll be ready to move on to graduate studies, if you aspire to higher levels of employment in the field.
