Business Administration (MBA)

What is A Business Administration (MBA) Degree?

You don’t need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business to be able to get into a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) program, but you will need to have some kind of Bachelor’s degree.  Some of the most prestigious business schools have specialized programs to which non-college grads can actually be admitted with the recommendations of their company leadership—sometimes called executive programs.

Most MBA students specialize in a particular area—areas like general management, international management, finance, marketing, or IT management.  Is an MBA necessary for success in business?  The course work does provide an analytical way to look at business operations along with really good skills in people management and corporate dynamics.  Plus, having an MBA will get attention in the job market and put you in a community of high-performers.  It may be worth it for many.

The video below discusses a “typical” program, so it should help regardless of which school you are considering.
