Marketing, Comprehensive (BA)
What is A Marketing, Comprehensive (BA) Degree?
Marketing involves managing relationships with customers. It’s not just about selling your product or service, but also about figuring out what customers and clients want and need in the first place. It also involves deciding which customers you want to serve and how best to do that. Earning a BA degree in Marketing, as opposed to a BS degree, says that you are more interested in gaining a broad knowledge in the field, learning about marketing as it relates to other fields in business and the liberal arts. You’ll have the opportunity to study topics and courses outside of marketing and may decide to focus on one particular area like consumer behavior. If you did that, you’d also take several behavioral science courses to learn the psychology of the marketplace in addition to sales, advertising, and promotion which are generally thought of as pure marketing. Or you may review research data in the field of sociology to try to understand better how customers make their decisions on what to buy. With the BA degree you’ll have more varied job opportunities since your base of knowledge will be broad. You’ll also be in a good position to go into graduate studies with this degree.
