Public Relations (BA)
What is A Public Relations (BA) Degree?
Public Relations involves the exchange of information between a person, company, or organization and the public, in an attempt to influence the publics’ behavior and reaction. Desired behavior may be buying a product, contributing money, voting for a particular candidate—things like that. An important part of influencing someone’s behavior involves communications.
A BA degree in Public Relations program will include courses in things like mass communications, public speaking, public relations writing, social media, and journalism, with lots of opportunities in classes to create and deliver persuasive messages. Many programs end with a major project in which a complex public relations campaign is designed under the guidance of professors and other professionals in the field.
