Communication Arts, Public Relations (BA)
What is A Communication Arts, Public Relations (BA) Degree?
Communication Arts looks at various kinds of communications between people, between cultures, and between organizations done through journalism, media outlets, TV, public relations, advertising, and all kinds on business communications. The BA degree specializing in Public Relations covers the exchange of information between a person, company, or organization and anyone else in an attempt to influence behavior (like getting them to buy a product, contribute money, vote for a particular candidate, etc.)
An important part of influencing someone’s behavior involves communications. In this degree program you’ll study consumer behavior and how to influence from both a psychological and a business perspective. You learn about how to determine the needs and wants of your target audience and how to successfully develop communications in a specific public relations campaign. This is a field in which creative communication strategies are critical to success.
The video below discusses a “typical” program, so it should help regardless of which school you are considering.
