Clinical Laboratory Science
What Is Clinical Laboratory Science?
The field of clinical laboratory science involves the testing of various specimens to assist doctors and other care providers in making decisions about a patient’s care. Lab technicians and scientists also improve procedures and even develop new ones to make sure that results are accurate. More than half of the lab scientists are employed by hospitals, and the need for lab people is expected to rise at a high rate over the next few years because of the aging baby boomer generation.
This may be a field to look in to, especially if you like science courses and have fun doing precise activities that take a lot of concentration and sometimes lead to surprising results. Some jobs are Clinical Lab Scientist, Medical Technologist, Medical Technologist—Rapid Response Laboratory, Supervisor Core Laboratory, and Lab Assistant.
