Architecture (BS Arch)

What is An Architecture (BS Arch) Degree?

A degree in Architecture prepares you to design and plan all kinds of structures that have the proper form and function to serve the desired purpose.  It’s part of the Building and Construction industry.   A BS degree in Architecture will allow you to become an Architect, with most programs taking about 5 years to complete. You’ll take courses in the history of architecture, architectural design, and building construction.  You may also study graphic design and how to accommodate designs to various climates.

After completing this professional degree, you will need to work under a licensed Architect for a period of time before you are able to take the licensing exam.  After you have your license, you can apply for certification by your national Architectural Registration Board.  This is not a required credential but may make it easier to be recognized in numerous geographical areas.
