What is A Information Technology, Network and Telecom (BS) Degree?

The field of Information Technology, Network and Telecommunications is all about keeping computer network systems running and secure.  Computer network systems allow users to access files and communicate with other network users.  Lots of things in our modern lives depend upon the functionality and safety of these networks.

This degree teaches students how to create and maintain the software and hardware used in these networks in businesses, organizations, and government agencies. Coursework in the program, in addition to general education, will include subjects like network security, local area networks, wide area networks, systems analysis, routing and switching, and database management.  Many online programs are available, and you may be able to earn certificates in specific systems along the way. You’ll probably have lots of job opportunities when you complete this program.

The video below discusses a “typical” program, so it should help regardless of which school you are considering.
