Graphic Design (BA)
What is A Graphic Design (BA) Degree?
Most people can’t agree on what Art is or what makes good or bad art. But, despite that, many people are working in the field. The field of Art, at least where careers are concerned, involves the creation of a tangible product of the artist’s imagination. The field of Graphic Design combines pictures and words for magazines, books, and advertisements in an artistic way that works—that entertains, informs, or persuades.
To get into a Graphic Design Bachelor’s program you may need to have studied art before and have a portfolio of work to present. Subjects you’ll study for the BA degree in Graphic Design will include things like design and color, desktop publishing, web graphics, animation, 2-D and 3-D design. Some possible jobs that you might think about with the BA are Architectural Drafter, Engineering Drafter, Film/Video Editor, Graphic Designer, or Industrial/Product Designer.
The video below discusses a “typical” program, so it should help regardless of which school you are considering.
