Finance (BS)

What is A Finance (BS) Degree?

The field of Finance provides a way to measure the value of stuff, usually in terms of money.  Finance is about figuring out how people make decisions about how to spend their money and how groups of people work together to create some value for themselves and others.

BS degree programs in Finance focus on analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems and the computer skills to go along with the problem-solving. Students learn about financial management in global markets, currencies and commodities, stocks and bonds, and economic forecasting.  In addition, they’ll take other basic business and computer courses. With this degree you’ll be prepared to be a financial analyst or adviser and be well positioned for commercial real estate or even law school.

The video below discusses a “typical” program, so it should help regardless of which school you are considering.
