Chemistry (BS)

What is A Chemistry (BS) Degree?

Chemistry is the study of the structure and properties of matter– anything that you could physically touch.  In a BS degree program, in addition to general education, you’ll learn about compounds, which are made up of atoms in elements and molecules.  You’ll also learn about what happens when molecules are combined.

You’ll get a fairly broad look at the field, studying organic chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, plus some other topics. With your BS degree you’ll be able to work in entry level positions in industries that use or develop chemically-based products.  For higher level positions in research and development you’ll need to have one or more graduate-level degrees in the field.
