Automotive Body Repair Technology (AAS or Certificate)

What is An Automotive Body Repair Technology (AAS or Certificate) Degree?

With an Associate’s degree (either an AS or an AAS) or Certificate in Auto Body Repair Technology you’ll be able to repair the frames and finish the exteriors of cars and small trucks after they get major or minor collision damage. You’ll be able to weld, use fillers, repair glass, and paint auto bodies along with a lot of other stuff.

Because this is a hands-on field, your technical training will be mostly hands-on, too, in addition to the general education courses you’ll need. With the degree and an additional year of experience, you can sit for the four exams to be certified as an ASE Master Collision Repair and Refinish Technician, something that some employers require.
