Anthropology, Cultural Track (MA)

What is An Anthropology, Cultural Track (MA) Degree?

Anthropology looks at societies and cultures all over the world, looking at how they began and how they continue.  The Cultural Track focuses on the study of cultures around the world from the past and present–how different cultures vary in practices and beliefs, and how they associate themselves into groups that have special meanings for them.

You may study global issues of human rights, underdevelopment, cultural beliefs, or hunger, and you may specialize in one particular area of the world for your study.  You may be expected to have some work in archaeology to augment your study of culture, and you’ll probably need to complete a thesis in cultural anthropology as part of this degree program.

The video below discusses a “typical” program, so it should help regardless of which school you are considering.
