Broadcast Journalism (BS)

What is A Broadcast Journalism (BS) Degree?

With this degree you’ll be able to report the news and special interest information to the public on the radio, TV, or the Internet.  To earn a BS degree in Broadcast Journalism, in addition to general education, you’ll take courses like writing for media, investigative reporting, public speaking, media technology, feature writing, photo journalism, and journalistic ethics.

The degree will prepare you to be involved in broadcast journalism as an on-air news reporter or anchor, a writer/producer, or any one of the creative professionals that are involved in reporting the news.  If you intend to work in a specific field of news like economics, health, or politics, you will probably need to have coursework in that field, too.
