Neurodiagnostics

What Is Neurodiagnostics?

When a patient’s health problem seems to be centered in the central nervous system, that is, the brain and spinal column, then tests of the system’s functioning may be needed.  This is where a neurodiagnostic technologist comes in to conduct the tests ordered a physician.  These may include tests like an EEG (electrical activity in the brain), Neuromonitoring during surgery, Polysomnograms during sleep, and Nerve Conduction studies during certain nerve stimulation.

If you attend closely to details, like to work directly with people in a hospital or lab environment wearing scrubs or a lab coat, and would like to help patients in a somewhat controlled environment, check out this field.   Jobs include Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Neurologist Technician, and Neurology Tech—EEG.
